This isn't your Daddy's Beer Run!

Michigan is our Mecca of Craft Beer.

Founders  is our Mosque.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) is our God.

We are  EXTREMELY excited to be visiting Founder’s for their release of the delicious Kentucky Breakfast Stout 2010. It’s been on our minds for over a year now.

For those of you not familiar with Founder’s or KBS, here is a quick educational piece. Founders is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is the dream come true of two college friends. It serves very delicious beer.

As for KBS, “What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year, to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Make your taste buds squeal with delight.” ~~~Founders (11.2% ABV 70 IBU’S)

That should explain it all.

Approximately, eighteen of us will be leaving for a Southern Michigan Brewery/Beerbar tour this Friday and will return on Sunday. (Maybe) Our stops will include Dark Horse Brewery in Marshall, Bells Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, New Holland Brewery in Holland, Hopcat in Grand Rapids and, Finally, Founders in Grand Rapids. Look out Smokey, there’s a new bandit in town.

If you’re in the area, we would love to have a beer with you. You can reach either Gabe or Dirt on Twitter or by email at Dirt@BrewsTravelers.com. Just let us know! If you can’t make it, we are going to try to get ustream running on the site.

Our itinerary on Friday is as follows:

  • 12:30pm – Dark Horse
  • 2:15pm – Bell’s
  • 5:30pm – Founders

Saturday:

  • 11am – Founder’s KBS release
  • 2:30pm- New Holland
  • 5pm – NAP (maybe)
  • 8pm – Hopcat (Tentative, could be earlier)

Stay Tuned to see what happens next! Cheers!
