What a Cool Name! Bosco’s could be the name of your family dog, a nickname or even a hardcore mixed drink. (Sounds better than an Irish Car Bomb..) But noooo, it’s a brewpub that, get this, is called “The restaurant for Beer Lovers.” Shunned no more! Shunned no more! We are freeeeeee! Wine Bars, Wine Lists, Ice Cream Bars, Salad Bars, Chipotle… Beware! Beer Lovers are here to stay and we are surging past your beloved bars. Bosco’s has called everyone out. This is the restaurant for Beer Lovers and we are here to stay! Excitement like this overwhelms me… (Thank you for letting me jump on that soap box for a moment.

Anyway, we weren’t to far away from a few great beer bars and brewpubs when we headed towards Bosco’s. Now Bosco’s has multiple locations, so we aren’t sure how the others are set up, but this one is in the middle of what seems to be a busy retail area. ( I was looking for a parking spot, so I didn’t really look around. Also, beer was on my mind.) I think I travelled around the area for twenty minutes before I realized that there was parking behind Bosco’s. Now, there was a parking lot, but the spaces, well, they were full. Another ten minutes and we were ready to walk down the hill to the front of Bosco’s and throw down some of the sweet nectar. Score one for the good guys!
We walked inside to what amounted to a huge cathedral! (I thought I was at the beer church, again!) The ceiling was extremely high and it was decorated in a very artistic manner. (at least to me.. ) I could see the brewing equipment from the front door. (Even though it looked like it was about two football fields away.) Now, I know I parked in the back of Bosco’s, but I must have blacked out on the walk to the front because I don’t remember walking that far. Well, the “walking” blackout cleared up and now it’s time to move onto many other different types of panic/excitement induced blackouts.
The bar seemed slightly busy, but not as busy as I had expected at this time of day. (Time of Day: not sure, but later than 4pm) It wasn’t until I spoke with a very informative lady at the bar that I found out why the parking spots were all taken. (Thanks, Kim!) It seems as though there was a huge event prior to our arrival and the waitstaff were collecting themselves and catching up from the onslaught. Nonetheless, the service was still great! The staff did a great job of promoting teamwork and got us settled in.
On to the Beer: I found the beer to be pretty good. (Now remember, this is my opinion. I am sure that other people love it.) I didn’t find anything that stuck out in either the good or bad category. What I did find, however, was a bunch of people starting to filter in and order beer. This means that I must have been having a bad day for my palate. The Mug Club is stocked with people that really love Bosco’s and it has more than one location. (Now I’m no scientist, but I think that means people love this place.) Now, I didn’t get a chance to try the food which could be my downfall. (Or not.) I mean it is a brewpub. It’s the beer that’s near to my heart. (Quick! Trademark that!)
Bosco’s is a great brewpub with an upscale atmosphere that does not come across that way. The location is a quick drive from downtown Nashville and it has a pretty big following. Give it a shot when you’re there and let me know what you think. I think it’s worth the trip.
